Did not use valet parking....public parking garage 1/2 block away. Staff assisted with printing out boarding pass. Every member of the staff was wonderful. Our room was comfortable and quiet, even though our windows faced Broughton Street.

Loved the Trivia Nights (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and have to give a special shout out to Mr. Carleton who welcomes guests to the hotel and is always there with an amazingly cheerful demeanor, he truly is a joy to talk to. And Wayne who leads trivia Night as well as other functions is great and always available for recommendations for restaurants and things to see around Savannah. I've stayed here several times and it's always pleasant and clean. The breakfast is always phenomenal and no other hotel compares. The Marshall House is well aware of their reputation for paranormal activity.

There's shopping and dining right outside our door, and beautiful squares and antebellum architecture at every turn. Most guests do not need their car until it's time to leave. A portrait of Mary Marshall, painted in 1830 by artist Peter Laurens, proudly hangs behind the front desk in the hotel's lobby. One day a young girl who was staying at the hotel with her father pointed to the picture of Mary Marshall and told her father that she had seen the lady in the hallway.
Everything was spotless and in great repair. The location is perfect for exploring the historical district. Loved the location, the friendliness of the staff, the comfort of the parlour area and the wine and nibbles reception with entertainment. The waiter serving at this was so nice and welcoming, a credit to the hotel, he was a gentleman. Bedroom was so comfy and immaculately clean.

On the fourth floor, in the hallway, loud noises are known to take place during the early morning hours, like the thundering of a heavy object crashing to the ground. Also, door knobs to the rooms tend to wiggle as if someone is attempting to enter the room. I'm not sure of the exact intentions this impolite ghost has, but it's a safe bet that it's not the kind of room service you would want. Central location and historical significance. Loved the wine and cheese evenings with quiz or live music. Staff terrific, special shout outs to the Assistant Manager Ken, Wayne at both breakfast and the evening wine and cheese session and Carleton at the front of the house also the concierge.

Savannah is the oldest city in Georgia, and what that title actually means, what it brings to the table, is a whole lotta unexplainable happenings. Many of the historic buildings in Savannah, have at least one ghostly presence, frankly, it doesn't seem to matter where you go in the city, something supernatural will find you. This is especially the case with The Marshall House, as it is very conducive to paranormal activity. These spirits are some of Savannah’s friendliest ghosts. Guests of the hotel have said to have heard ghostly children playing and running down the halls late at night as well as faucets turning on by themselves.

Guests have also reported hearing the distinct sound of an old-fashioned typewriter coming from the former room of author Joel Chandler Harris, who is best known for his collection of Uncle Remus stories. Is the spirit of Joel Chandler Harris still typing away, intent on creating another tale about Uncle Remus? Others tell of a dapper gentleman reading a book by a window, a lady in white flowing through the hallways, and another ghostly woman who haunts the ladies’ restroom, and on occasion she will lock the stall. Let's just hope it is a ghost, and not some Chuck Berry copycat, with a serious fetish problem. The Marshall House’s original owner was a prominent Savannah woman. Mary M. Marshall opened the original Marshall House in 1851, and she was known as an incredibly successful businesswoman in Savannah’s elite financial and social circles.

It is hard not to recommend the Marshall House on Broughton Street. The ghost stories and gruesome history of the Marshall House is hard to ignore. This maybe why it is featured on so many of the ghost tours here in Savannah, including our Ghost City Tour's Grave Tales of Savannah Ghost Tour. Amazing hotel, excellent location in Savannah. This place was walking distance to almost every place we wanted to go, including the riverwalk and many ... It was great staying here learning the history of this hotel.
